A message from children in Bethlehem, written on the "Separation Wall",
In February of 2009 we went on a pilgrimage to walk in the footsteps of Jesus and that trip changed our lives. The reality of sacred sites in the Bible became our own personal reality. We were compelled to make this far more than a travel memory. We want to bring information about Christians in the Holyland and make available beautiful olive wood art to help the Christian artists feed their families.
How We Began:
Taking our pilgrimage to the Holy Land and Egypt was a decision that changed our lives.
Although we had been Christians all our lives, this trip impacted us in new and vital ways. We stood by the Burning Bush at Mt. Sinai, still flourishing after 2000 years. Traveled the route of the Holy Families "Flight into Egypt".In a fishing boat on the Sea of Galilee, we, like the disciples, seemed to witness the miracle of Jesus walking on water.
However, we were brought back into reality with "The Separation Wall" ,completely surrounding Bethlehem, The Israeli Settlements, The Palestinian Refugee Camps, The hundreds of miles of "Separation Fence". Witnessing the complete lack of civil rights for a proud Palestinian People made us question what we had heard in "The American Press".
